MS Dhoni Connection In Baahubali Animated Series? SS Rajamouli’s Reply Goes Viral

The fandom of MS Dhoni is quite well-known and even after his international retirement, fans around India continue to shower him with immense love and respect. With reports claiming that IPL 2024 can be the final season for Dhoni in the competition, spectators have flocked to the stadiums and the cheer is almost thunderous whenever the former Indian cricket team captain comes out to bat. Over the years, Dhoni has been an integral part of popular culture and it looks like he now has a connection to the famous ‘Baahubali’ franchise. During an event for the animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ at Hyderabad, director and series producer SS Rajamouli was asked about the similarity between the design of Amarendra Baahubali – one of the protagonists – and Dhoni, Rajamouli’s answer was a moment of pride for the Dhoni fans.

“Bahubali character face design is same as Dhoni, is that because you love MS Dhoni?”

“Probably character creators are also his fans like me,” Rajamouli responded.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni surprised everyone as he came out to bat at the No. 9 spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings Seeing Shardul Thakur walk out to bat ahead of Dhoni in the match, many fans and experts were left baffled.

Former India cricketers like Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh also launched a stern attack at the wicket-keeper batter over the decision, suggesting he shouldn’t even be a part of the team if he wants to bat so low in the order.  But, it has now been reported that the reason behind Dhoni’s delayed arrival is down to an injury.

In a report by the Times of India, Dhoni is carrying a muscle tear in his leg which prevents him from running too long on the field. Hence, the veteran cricketer isn’t keen in coming out to bat too early for CSK, as running between the wickets is an issue for him.
