In Bihar, Teacher And Principal Walk Into School Drunk, Arrested

Posted on November 22, 2024 By admin

A video of the incident is also doing rounds on social media.

A principal and teacher of a government school in Bihar’s Nalanda district were arrested for going to the educational institute in a drunken state. The incident took place earlier this week in the Gulni village when the two authorities defied the liquor ban in Bihar.

The duo, Nagendra Prasad, the school principal, and Subodh Kumar, a contractual teacher, were behaving eccentrically at the school, officials said.

According to the police, a group of people from the village noticed the two authorities behaving in an unconventional and unprofessional manner. When they tried confronting them, the principal and the teacher allegedly abused the villagers.

Following this, the locals informed the police.

A video of the incident is also doing rounds on social media wherein the two can be seen talking in a drunken state to the students and villagers around them. The teacher was not able to walk and could be seen falling on the road due to the high level of intoxication. He was later dragged by officials to the police van.

Amid this, an altercation between the police officials and the villagers broke out as one of the police officers, who was initially dragging the duo, was also allegedly drunk. He was then sent back to the police station, officials said.

Prasad and Kumar were arrested and the police confirmed that they were under the influence of alcohol.

They have also been suspended from the school, the police said.
