GT vs DC, IPL 2024: Predicted Playing XIs And Impact Substitutes

GT vs DC, IPL 2024: Predicted Playing XIs And Impact Substitutes

Posted on April 17, 2024 By admin

Gujarat Titans will host Delhi Capitals in the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, April 17. Both teams will head into the clash after returning to winning ways in their respective fixtures last week. While the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans beat in-form Rajasthan Royals by three wickets, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals overcame Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets. With three wins and just as many losses, the Titans are placed sixth in the IPL 2024 standings while the Capitals are languishing in ninth with four points from six games.

Ahead of another enthralling IPL 2024 clash, we look at the predicted XIs of both sides.

GT Predicted XI

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan has been one of the standout batters for GT in IPL 2024 so far. The 22-year-old southpaw has scored 226 runs in six matches at an average of 37.67 and a strike rate of 127.68. He will aim to score big on Wednesday.

Shubman Gill (Captain)

Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill will look to continue his good form in the ongoing IPL. The stylish right-handed batter has amassed 255 runs in six games at a strike rate of 151.78 while also maintaining an average of 51.

Matthew Wade (wicketkeeper)

GT’s overseas wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade played his first IPL 2024 game against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Wade was included in the playing XI after the likes of BR Sharath and Wriddhiman Saha produced lacklustre performances. Wade has over 5,000 T20 runs and is expected to retain his place against DC.

Abhinav Manohar

Abhinav Manohar played his first IPL game of the season last week. The hard-hitting batter has scored 615 runs in 35 T20s at a strike rate of 152.60 and will look to impress against the Capitals to cement his place in the GT XI.

Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar has featured in all six games for Gujarat Titans this season. He showed glimpses of regaining form after slamming 16 runs off 10 balls against the Royals and will hope to convert his starts into a big score on Wednesday.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia has been one of the standout finishers in the IPL over the last few seasons. Batting in the lower middle-order, Tewatia has once again produced a few blitzkrieg cameos in IPL 2024 and has made 103 runs at a strike rate of 147.14.

Rashid Khan

Star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has been a match-winner for the Titans since 2022. The Afghanistan cricketer has scalped six wickets in just as many matches at an economy of 7.96. He also played a match-winning cameo of an 11-ball 24 against RR in the Titans’ last outing.

Noor Ahmad

Noor Ahmad has been an integral member of Gujarat Titans since last season. The 19-year-old left-arm spinner has picked up 19 wickets in 17 matches at an economy of 7.88 and an average 26.21 in the IPL.

Umesh Yadav

India’s Umesh Yadav has provided key breakthroughs for GT in IPL 2024. In the absence of star pacer Mohammed Shami, Umesh has bagged seven wickets in six matches and has provided early breakthroughs for his team this season.

Spencer Johnson

Spencer Johnson has provided variety to Gujarat Titans’ bowling department. The Australian left-arm pacer has claimed three wickets in four matches this season and could trouble DC’s batting line-up.

Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma has been the leading wicket-taker for GT in IPL 2024. The 35-year-old right-arm pacer has picked up eight wickets in six matches and is expected to play a key role on Wednesday.

DC Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw

DC’s dashing opening batter Prithvi Shaw has looked in good touch in the ongoing IPL. The 24-year-old has accumulated 151 runs in four matches at an average of 37.75 and a strike rate of 157.29. He will look to provide another quick-fire start.

David Warner

Star opener David Warner will head into the game with a string of low scores. Despite being inconsistent, Warner has scored 166 runs in six matches at a strike rate of around 140. He will look to play a match-winning knock against GT.

Jake Fraser-McGurk

Australian cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk impressed on his IPL debut. Chasing 168 against LSG, Jake Fraser-McGurk played a match-defining 35-ball 55 knock to help Delhi chase down the target in 18.1 overs. The youngster will look to continue his good form.

Rishabh Pant (captain/wicketkeeper)

Rishabh Pant has made a sensational comeback in the IPL after his life-threatening accident. The swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter has been the leading run-scorer for DC this season, having amassed 194 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 157.72.

Tristan Stubbs

Tristan Stubbs has been the most impactful batter for DC in IPL 2024 so far. The 23-year-old South African has scored 189 runs in six games at an average of 63 and a strike rate of 190.90. He has already hit two fifties and will aim to continue his good run.

Abishek Porel

Abishek Porel has played a few eye-catching knocks for DC this season. The left-handed batter has scored 91 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 146.77 and will look to impress again in Ahmedabad.

Axar Patel

India’s star all-rounder Axar Patel has been an important member of the DC setup since 2019. With four wickets and 51 runs in IPL 2024, the Capitals will expect Axar to step up against a star-studded Gujarat outfit.

Kuldeep Yadav

Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been a wicket-taker for DC in IPL 2024. Kuldeep has already picked up six wickets in just three matches at an economy of 6.75 and could play a pivotal role against GT.

Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar has been a decent performer for the Capitals this season. The right-arm fast bowler has bagged five wickets in three matches at an average of 22.20 and will look to provide early breakthroughs on Wednesday.

Ishant Sharma

Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has scalped four wickets in five matches in IPL 2024. While Ishant has been impressive in the powerplays, he has conceded a few runs in the death overs and will aim to produce a complete performance in Ahmedabad.

Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed has been the leading wicket-taker for DC in IPL 2024 so far. The left-arm pacer has already bagged nine wickets in six matches at an average of 23.44 and an economy of 8.79. He will look to add to his tally against GT.
