A 42-year-old senior executive of a Singapore-based IT services and solutions company was shot dead following a dispute over parking in Faridabad on Friday (November 6, 2026) evening. The police have arrested the accused, identified as Mohan Sharma, a real estate agent who lived on the third floor of the same multi-storey building in Sector 21C where the victim resided with his family.
The victim, Paramjith Dhankhar, had returned from Singapore two days ago to attend a family wedding and celebrate Deepavali with his family.
According to the complaint filed by his 19-year-old son, Shaurya, the accused rang the doorbell of their flat around 8.30 p.m. and asked Mr. Dhankhar, who had returned from the gym a few minutes earlier, to come downstairs and move his car. Shaurya also accompanied his father to the parking area.
An argument reportedly broke out between the two men, following which Mr. Sharma allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired several rounds at Mr. Dhankhar. He also fired at Shaurya, who managed to escape unhurt by taking cover behind parked cars. The accused then fled the spot in his vehicle. Mr. Dhankhar succumbed to his bullet injuries.
“About 14-15 rounds were fired, of which eight or nine reportedly hit the victim. His son, who was present at the spot, escaped unhurt,” said Surajkund police station SHO Inspector Pahlad. The SHO said the two men had differences earlier as well and the accused allegedly used to create disturbances after consuming alcohol.
A case was registered at the Surajkund police station under charges of murder, attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy. The accused was subsequently arrested by the Sector 30 Crime Branch team on Saturday (November 7, 2026).
