Counting of votes for the elections to 92 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), comprising 13 Municipal Corporations and 79 Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats, began across the State on Tuesday (November 3, 2026).

Early trends show the TDP ahead in the Chittoor region, where it won several seats unanimously. Counting was delayed in Bapatla and Prakasam districts by heavy rain from Cyclone Murasu, and in Parvathipuram after the strong room keys went missing.

The counting process is being taken up for a total of 3,186 wards across the 92 ULBs. Of these, 804 wards are in Municipal Corporations, while the remaining 2,382 are in Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats.

The State has established 138 counting centres to facilitate the process, including 22 centres for Municipal Corporations, with the remaining centres catering to Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats. Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of counting.
