Telugu Desam Party (TDP) mayoral candidate Mukka Sravani on Thursday unveiled a nine-point manifesto for the development of Visakhapatnam in 2026–2031 period, promising to focus on improving basic civic amenities, strengthening urban infrastructure to make the city greener and more liveable.

Releasing the manifesto at a press conference in the presence of Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat and other NDA leaders, Ms. Sravani said her five years of experience as a corporator had given her a close understanding of the civic issues faced by residents across the city.

She said: “Having being born and brought up in Visakhapatnam, I am familiar with the city and its people. My experience in municipal governance, would help me identify and address people’s problems.” She added that she would also explore the use of technology wherever necessary to implement development initiatives and resolve civic issues.

The manifesto titled ‘Mayor Abhivruddhi Pranalika 2026–2031’ (Mayor’s Development Plan 2026–2031), outlines nine priorities, with an emphasis on improving the delivery of everyday civic services and upgrading public infrastructure.

Ms Sravani said that the manifesto focuses on providing better civic amenities in every colony.

“Every ward has basic amenities. We will focus to improve the amenities such as sanitation, streetlight, parks etc, she said.

The Mayor candidate also said that focus would be on ensuring regular drinking water supply and upgrading drainage systems. She also stated that ensuring access to safe and affordable food while supporting food vendors, while strengthening the management of sewage and rainwater drainage, would be a priority.

The manifesto also promises cleaner streets and markets, better-maintained public toilets, improved roads with prompt repairs, enhanced street lighting, safer streets and smoother traffic movement. Strengthening healthcare centres, schools and sports facilities is another priority outlined in the document.

Another point focuses is on making Visakhapatnam greener and more liveable, placing environmental sustainability alongside improvements to urban infrastructure and public amenities.

The NDA Mayor Candidate also emphasised on technology-based solutions for civics issues in the wards, speed up grievance redressal and ensure timely responses to problems reported by residents.

The manifesto was released as part of the NDA’s campaign for the ongoing Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections, with Ms. Sravani contesting for the Mayor’s post.

MLAs P Vishnu Kumar Raju from BJP and Ch Vamsikrishna Srinivas from JSP were present.
