‘Modification in pavement goes unnoticed in Nanganallur ‘

‘Modification in pavement goes unnoticed in Nanganallur ‘

During the day, the ramps are visible. After sunset, the ramps are difficult to spot due to poor lighting. Even when trying to avoid a speeding motorist or a motorcyclist, pedestrians can fall over them during daylight. A commercial establishment next to the confectionery has constructed a cement ramp. Pedestrians can skid while trying to negotiate it (climb up and down) to avoid speeding motorists.

In addition, the walkway along the carriageway is sliding, and pedestrians can slip and fall. Residents and commercial establishments have carried out the modifications and ramp installation in the walkway, and Greater Chennai Corporation must take action.

B. Ramachandran is a long-time resident of Nanganallur
