Kakatiya Knights and Mighty Marathas remained on top of the table with 10 points after registering wins over Rajputana Royals and Chola Chiefs in the Archery Premier League Season 2 at People’s Plaza on Wednesday.

In the opening match of the day, Prithivraj Yodhas downed Chero Archers to move into third place with eight points.

Three sudden-death tiebreakers were needed to separate Yodhas and Archers when they met the previous time. In the reverse fixture, however, the former made light work of the latter. Yodhas were led by the 16-year-old recurve archer Gatha Anandrao Khadake, who shot 58 out of a possible 60, and Asian Games compound medallist Ganesh Thirumuru (59). While Yodhas arrested their own mini-slump, Archers slumped to their third straight defeat.

In the day’s final contest, Chiefs’ woeful run of form continued as they stayed rooted to the bottom with just one win in seven matches, suffering a fifth successive loss.

In contrast, Marathas, who had started the season with two reverses, have now won five on the bounce.

The scores: Prithviraj Yodhas bt Chero Archers 5-1 (75-75, 77-75, 77-74).

Kakatiya Knights bt Rajputana Royals 6-2 (74-73, 79-78, 74-75, 76-74).

Mighty Marathas bt Chola Chiefs 6-0 (77-76, 75-72, 78-75).
