The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday (October 13, 2026) raised its forecast for global economic growth in 2026 by 0.1 percentage point to 3.1%, citing “resilience” in the face of high energy costs and other shocks.

In its World Economic Outlook report, the Fund left its forecast for 2027 global growth unchanged at 3.4%.

For the United States, the IMF left its 2026 growth forecast unchanged, but lifted the 2027 projection for GDP growth in the world’s largest economy to 2.3%.
