Two killed in separate road accidents in Balanagar, Miyapur

Posted on October 8, 2026 By admin

Two persons, including a 56-year-old businessman, were killed in separate road accidents involving heavy vehicles in Balanagar and Miyapur on Thursday (October 8). While one was killed after a goods carrier transporting iron pipes overturned on him, the other died following a collision with a tipper lorry.

In the first incident, Prakash Pawar, 56, a resident of Shahpur Nagar who operated a gold-melting shop in Ameerpet, was killed when a goods carrier transporting iron pipes overturned near the Balanagar flyover around 2.30 p.m.

According to the police, Pawar was travelling to work on his scooter and was taking a U-turn beneath the flyover near pillar number 22, when the Ashok Leyland goods carrier overturned on him. Police said the vehicle was illegally overloaded, with iron pipes stacked unevenly, causing it to lose balance and overturn.

The Balanagar police apprehended the driver and seized the vehicle. A case was registered under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), pertaining to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

DCP Traffic-II Sheshadrini Reddy inspected the accident site and reviewed the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In the second incident, Vishnu Bandari, 29, a resident of HMT Swarnapuri Colony in Miyapur, was killed after a tipper lorry collided with his motorcycle near metro pillar number 600 in Miyapur around 12.10 a.m.

According to the police, Vishnu was travelling from Kukatpally towards Miyapur when the tipper lorry, being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, collided with his motorcycle as he approached a U-turn.

Vishnu sustained severe injuries to his head and abdomen and was rushed to TX Hospital in Miyapur, where he died while undergoing treatment around 1.25 a.m.

Based on a complaint lodged by his wife, Pooja Bandari, 28, the Miyapur police registered a case against the lorry driver under Section 106(1) of the BNS, pertaining to causing death by negligence.
