Mr. Shah was supposed to inaugurate the college and hospital at 11 a.m. Accordingly, arrangements had been made and thousands of people were waiting for his arrival at the venue near Gabbur in Hubballi.

Sources said that Mr. Shah was hail and healthy in the morning, but subsequently fell unwell.

Announcing Mr. Shah’s inability to attend the event, KLA Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) Chancellor Prabhakar Kore said that the Union Home Minister was unwell and was taking rest in a hotel in Hubballi on the advice of a doctor.
