Man died after Ganesha idol fell on him during transit

Posted on September 11, 2026 By admin

A 27-year-old man was died on Friday after a Ganesha idol fell on him during transit at Attanur village in Sirwar taluk of Raichur district.

The deceased has been identified as Prem, a resident of Attanur village.

According to preliminary reports, Prem was among three persons sitting in the back of a truck transporting a heavy Ganesh idol intended for installation at the village.

The accident occurred when the idol came into contact with an overhead live electricity cable along the transit route. The impact caused the massive idol to lose balance and collapse directly onto Prem.

Following the incident, local residents and fellow travelers rushed Prem to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Sirwar police have registered a case and launched a probe.
