Mumbai Global Fintech Fest 2026: Small Finance Banks seen taking big steps

Mumbai Global Fintech Fest 2026: Small Finance Banks seen taking big steps

Posted on September 10, 2026 By admin

AU Small Finance Bank has announced it’s entry into credit card segment by introducing CheQ AU Credit Card, India’s first LED-enabled credit card in association with Visa and CheQ, one of India’s leading credit-management platforms, at GFF. File Photo Credit: Special Arrangement

They may be small, and named small by the regulator, due to their category of licence, but Small Finance Banks are seen taking bold steps at the ongoing Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai in terms of technology adoption and innovations.

Towards digital progress, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited, through a tie up with Winjit Technologies, announced the introduction of modernised Retail Internet Banking and Mobile Banking platform at the GFF 2026. Utkarsh Small Finance Bank had partnered with Winjit last year to refresh its core digital experience.

India’s fintech companies should expand to democratise comprehensive financial services, says PM

”This updated platform is designed to give our customers a clean, efficient, and reliable digital experience right from their fingertips,” said Govind Singh, Managing Director & CEO, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Ltd.

“True digital progress is about making everyday interactions smoother and more accessible for the end user. We are proud to support Utkarsh in bringing this modernized experience to life today, with plenty more shared milestones ahead on our collaborative roadmap,” added Ashwin Kandoi, Co-founder, Winjit Technologies.

The rollout signifies how targeted technology collaboration can help financial institutions steadily enhance their digital touchpoints and serve their customers better.

Similarly, AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB), India’s largest Small Finance Bank, which is on track to become a Universal Bank, has announced it’s entry into credit card segment by introducing CheQ AU Credit Card, India’s first LED-enabled credit card in association with Visa and CheQ, one of India’s leading credit-management platforms, at GFF.

Developed through the combined strengths of AU SFB, Visa and CheQ, the CheQ AU Credit Card brings together banking capabilities, global payments technology and deep consumer insights, the entities said.

The card features a first-of-its-kind LED activation that lights up during contactless transactions, transforming an everyday tap into a distinctive payment experience while encouraging wider adoption of tap-and-pay payments.

Yogesh Jain, Deputy CEO, AU Small Finance Bank, said, “As payment habits continue to evolve, customers are increasingly looking for products that combine everyday value with engaging experiences. We are introducing a credit card proposition that offers meaningful rewards while bringing a unique touch to everyday spending.”

Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager, India, Visa, said, “Our focus has always been on embedding ourselves meaningfully into the life journeys of consumers by enabling payment experiences that are seamless, trusted and intuitive. Our partnership with AU Small Finance Bank and CheQ reflects this commitment.

Aditya Soni, Founder and CEO, CheQ, said, “Together with AU Small Finance Bank and Visa, we have created a card that makes everyday spending more rewarding while transforming every contactless payment into an experience. With the CheQ AU Credit Card, every tap is designed to stand out.”

This offering highlighting how collaboration across banking, payments and fintech is driving the next generation of consumer credit experiences in India, the entities said.
