Teaching job aspirants protest in Prayagraj seeking recruitment

Teaching job aspirants protest in Prayagraj seeking recruitment

Posted on September 10, 2026 By admin

Teaching job aspirants in Prayagraj continued their indefinite sit-in protest on Wednesday (September 9, 2026) seeking notification for over 60,000 primary teachers’ posts. They accused the government of delaying vacancies for eight years.

“The vacancy of primary teachers is not advertised since the last eight years. This extended delay is negatively affecting our lives; we have commenced an indefinite sit-in protest at Pathar Girijaghar. We want the notification and time-bound recruitment of at least 60,000 teachers in government schools. This ongoing delay constitutes a criminal act as it kills the valuable years of young individuals,” said Rajat Singh, state president DELED Morcha. He further mentioned that candidates are maintaining communication through social media platforms. The Sanyukt Pratiyogi Chhatra Hunkar Manch, an organisation based in Prayagraj representing aspirants of competitive government recruitment examinations, has also expressed its support for the candidates.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh extended support to protesting teaching aspirants. “I visited the students’ protest site. Over 15 lakh unemployed D.El.Ed trained people are waiting for teacher recruitment for the last nine years while roughly two lakh posts of primary teachers are vacant in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has completely failed in conducting recruitment examinations. I urge the state government to please conduct recruitment. Sadly, in Uttar Pradesh the government is busy closing schools. I support these aspirants in every possible democratic way,” said Sanjay Singh, the Rajya Sabha MP.
