VTU asks principals of engineering colleges to dedicate time slots for student interaction and grievance redressal

VTU asks principals of engineering colleges to dedicate time slots for student interaction and grievance redressal

Posted on September 5, 2026 By admin

The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has issued a circular instructing principals of affiliated engineering colleges to dedicate time slots for student interaction and grievance redressal.

“Principals are asked to earmark and clearly display specific time slots during which students may meet the principal for discussion of their academic, administrative, or other genuine grievances. The designated time for student interaction shall be prominently displayed outside the principal’s chamber, so that students are aware of the appropriate time,” it is stated.

The colleges have been asked to maintain a grievance log book. In the log book, the principal must record the date, brief nature of the grievance/query, and the action taken or resolution provided, wherever applicable.

Meanwhile, VTU has informed the colleges that the availability and implementation of such a system may also be verified by the Local Inspection Committee (LIC) during the affiliation/inspection process.
