School management committee executives and parents submitted a petition at the collector’s public grievance redressal meeting yesterday, stating that students of the Sathirakkudi Government Higher Secondary School in Ramanathapuram district are suffering due to a lack of drinking water facilities and water supply in the toilets.

School Management Committee President Kavitha stated, “More than 550 students, including over 300 girls, study at the Sathirakkudi Government Higher Secondary School.”

“There are no drinking water facilities for the students in this school, causing them severe distress. Due to the lack of water supply in the toilets, female students are facing immense hardship,” she complained.

“If students use the toilets, there is a risk of infectious diseases spreading. Therefore, the Collector should take action to provide water supply for the toilets and drinking water facilities,” she demanded.
