SRIKAKULAM
Former Minister and YSRCP senior leader Dharmana Prasada Rao on Monday said that he is upbeat that the party will sweep the upcoming local body polls in the Srikakulam district.
The party organised a rally in Srikakulam on the occasion of reopening of the party’s new district office in the Town Hall, located on the G.T. Road. Town Hall was the party’s office between 2012 and 2024 but it was changed to a private building after YSRCP was defeated in the 2024 Assembly election.
However, the party had again decided to continue its functioning from the town hall building. Mr. Rao, along with the party district president Dharmana Krishnadas, inaugurated the new office.
Hitting out at the ruling government, Mr. Rao said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had not won a single Zilla Parishad Constituency in the previous elections and same result would be repeated this time also as the Chandrababu Naidu government had “failed” to meet aspirations of the people in the last two years. He alleged that the government had failed to take up relief measures after several parts of drought.
Mr. Krishnadas said that the party would offer seats to leaders with good image.
