Contract research, development and manufacturing organisation Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services, a subsidiary of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, has entered into a long-term manufacturing and supply agreement (MSA) with a leading global pharmaceutical company.
Under the agreement, Aurigene will undertake commercial drug-product manufacturing and supply for a diversified portfolio targeting markets across the U.S., Europe, Canada and emerging markets. The identity of the global pharmaceutical company has not been disclosed due to confidentiality obligations.
The initial portfolio comprises more than 20 products across sterile injectables, biologics and topical formulations, which will be manufactured at Aurigene’s facilities in India.
The partnership is expected to progress through a phased technology-transfer programme over the next two to three years, leading to commercial manufacturing and long-term supply. At full commercialisation, the portfolio is expected to generate annual volumes of around 18 million units, with injectables accounting for the bulk of the volumes. Revenue contribution from the agreement is expected to begin in calendar year 2028.
As part of the agreement, an end-to-end framework covering technical transfer, process development, scale-up, validation, commercial manufacturing and long-term supply would be established.
Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services CEO Akhil Ravi said the strategic collaboration reflects the confidence global innovators place in the company’s integrated drug-product development and manufacturing capabilities.
The partnership would provide long-term revenue visibility, accelerate the scale-up of Aurigene’s drug-product business and strengthen its focus on reliable, high-quality supply to patients worldwide, he added.
