Former Member of Parliament V. Vijayasai Reddy on Monday (August 24, 2026) alleged that the political parties in power and the Opposition are suppressing the alleged Kakinada Love Jihad incident as they are scared of losing minority’ votes.
This is in connection with the suicide pact by Assistant Engineer K. Nooka Raju’s family. The suicide notes purportedly separately left behind by Nooka Raju and his daughter Sowjanya, provided links to the conspiracy of Love Jihad.
On Monday, Mr. Reddy posted a five-page text of the suicide letter purportedly written by on X, exposing how the accused Sadhik Khan was forcing Sowjanya to embrace Islam. Prior to that, Mr. Reddy met and consoled the ten-year-old son of Soujanya in Ravulapalem in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Vijayasai Reddy claimed; “I have a soft copy of the suicide letter purportedly written by Soujanya. Mr. Sadhik Khan was forcing her to convert to Islam and read and write Islamic literature. He even threatened to hand over her son to terrorists whenever she disobeyed his commands as mentioned in the suicide letter”.
Mr. Reddy stated that the accused, Mr. Khan, conspired for ‘Love Jihad‘ with support of a gang in the Kakinada case.
Referring to his interaction with Soujanya’s in-laws and her suicide letter, Mr. has alleged, “Mr. Khan managed to import a chemical that acts as a slow poison from Canada, and administered it to Soujanya’s husband Jagadeeswara Reddy, in Hyderabad. He had taken gold and cash, apart from registering ₹12 crore worth of lands, by threatening to eliminate the Nooka Raju”.
Suppression by parties
“This is an incident related to Love Jihad that was earlier witnessed in the States such as Kerala and the North Eastern Region. However, political parties in power and the Opposition are suppressing the issue in Andhra Pradesh”, said Mr. Vijayasai Reddy.
“We never heard about Love jihad in Andhra Pradesh. The fear of loss of minority’ votes is suspected to be the reason for the silence on the Love jihad case by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and BJP Andhra Pradesh units”, alleged Mr. Vijayasai Reddy.
“The successive governments in power since 2019 have chosen to be spectators to the practice of religious conversions. Despite an absolute majority in the Assembly, why is Mr. Naidu not taking a call to enact an Anti-Religious Conversion Law in Andhra Pradesh to prevent incidents such as Kakinada Love Jihad case”, asked Mr. Vijaysai Reddy.
Mr. Vijaysai Reddy has alleged that Soujanya’s son, the lone survivor in the family suicide bid, has threats from Mr. Sadhik Khan and his gang and the authorities concerned should look into it.
