Two men died on the spot when the two-wheeler in which they were travelling crashed into a road barricade at Chinna Udaippu near here on Saturday.
Police said M. Pandithurai, 22, from Kallakkarai village near Paralachi in Virudhunagar district, and M. Muneeswaran, 24, from Tiruchuli taluk in Virudhunagar district, were friends and worked as masons. They were staying at a construction site at Thiruppalai in Madurai.
On Saturday morning, they went on a rwo-wheeler to attend a festival at Muneeswaran’s hometown. Around 8 a.m., while apparently watching an airplane fly overhead, they crashed into a road barricade and died on the spot. Avaniyapuram police registered a case and further investigation is under way.
