Widening of road linking Uttarahalli-Mysuru Road to be completed soon: Krishna Byre Gowda

Posted on August 18, 2026 By admin

Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda told the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that the government was planning to quickly complete the long-pending work related to widening of Uttarahalli Main Road that links in Mysuru Road with the help of new TDR (Transferable Development Rights) scheme.

Replying to MLA for Yeshwantpur S.T. Somashekhar during the Question Hour, the Minister pointed out that the road-widening work was yet to be completed though work order in this regard had been provided in 2021 itself.

He attributed the delay to the lack of interest in the earlier TDR scheme among owners of 133 properties that were proposed to be acquired for road-widening.

However, the property owners had started showing interest in the new TDR scheme and already owners of 30 properties had given their consent for acquisition of their properties while the owners of the remaining properties too had evinced interest in the new scheme, he said.

Already, land to the tune of 30,000 sq. ft had been acquired near Krishnapriya Kalyanamantapa by issuing TDR certificates, he pointed out.

He observed that another challenge for the proposed road widening was the development of a stretch of road coming under Karnataka State Reserve Forest region. A joint survey with the Forest Department had already been completed and the proposed land would soon be taken over by B-SMILE to complete the project at the earliest, he said.
