Several anti-drug awareness events were organised in Palayamkottai on Monday (August 10, 2026).
District Collector Anand Mohan inaugurated the anti-drug awareness sports events for school and college students at Anna Stadium iand administered the anti-drug pledge to them.
The students will showcase their skills in volleyball, football, basketball, kabaddi, silambam, 100 m, 400 m and 800 m races, long jump, high jump, shotput, chess, carrom, table tennis and throw ball.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli East, S. Saravanan, flagged off the anti-drug awareness rally at St. John’s College. As the rally reached V.O.C. Stadium, Commissioner of Police Deshmukh Shekar Sanjay participated in the human chain organised there and administered the anti-drug pledge to the students.
Collector Ranjeet Singh flagged off the drug abuse awareness rally at Tenkasi new bus-stand, in which 500 students participated.
