Injectable-focussed generic drugmaker Gland Pharma reported consolidated net profit for June quarter rose 47% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹317 crore.

It came on a 20% YoY increase in revenue from operations to ₹1,800.3 crore. On a sequential basis, net profit was 14% lower and revenue 3% higher.

Growth was driven by recent product launches from CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) portfolio and strong customer demand. The company is investing in differentiated technologies and capacity expansions as part of a focus on a developing a robust CDMO pipeline, Executive Chairman Srinivas Sadu said.

Revenue from its key U.S. market increased 32% YoY to ₹.981 crore, while remaining flat on a sequential basis. Revenue from Canada, Australia and New Zealand (other core markets) declined 28% YoY to ₹53.4 crore and 9% sequentially.

CDMO pact with global pharma major

On Sunday, Gland Pharma announced a strategic manufacturing and supply agreement with a leading global pharmaceutical company for technology transfer, manufacturing and supply of a portfolio of sterile injectable products for global markets.

The partnership establishes Gland Pharma as an integrated end-to-end partner supporting multiple products across various stages of the product lifecycle, including both commercially marketed products and pipeline products under development. The portfolio comprises a basket of oncology and non-oncology products in Vial, Lyo,

Ampoules and pre-filled syringe presentations, covering both complex and conventional injectable formulations, it said.

Gland Pharma said it will leverage its integrated capabilities across development, technology transfer, manufacturing, quality and regulatory support to provide a comprehensive one-stop solution to its partner. The agreement covers 55 SKUs to be manufactured across three sites, with scope of adding more products soon.

Once all products are commercialised, annualised revenue potential is expected to be $90–100 million. Technology transfer activities are planned for completion within two years, with revenues expected to commence from calendar year 2029. Gland Pharma shares closed 2.42% higher on the BSE at ₹2,663.50 a piece on Monday.
