KDEM enters MoU with Goodworks Group to attract fresh investment of ₹5,000 crore in new GCCs; create over 62,000 new jobs

Posted on August 9, 2026 By admin

Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), an entity designed to function as the knowledge bridge between the Government of Karnataka and the industry ecosystem to accelerate the development of the State’s IT, BT, and S&T sectors, and GoodWorks Group, a tech ecosystem enabler, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly accelerate Karnataka’s next phase of growth as the world’s leading destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Under the partnership, the collaborators are targeting to attract an additional investment of ₹5,000 crore in 50 new GCCs and expansions of existing GCCs in the State in the next five years.

The partnership would focus on attracting global enterprises to establish and expand their operations in Karnataka while strengthening the State’s overall GCC ecosystem through investment promotion, international outreach, policy support, industry engagement, research, talent initiatives and strategic collaborations.

The partnership would also lead to creating over 62,500 direct and indirect jobs that means some ₹2,250 crore would flow into Karnataka’s economy in terms of annual salaries and also would also create demand for 1.25 million sq. ft commercial real estate, according to the statement.

Speaking on on the occasion, Sanjeev Gupta, CEO, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) said, “Karnataka continues to lead India’s Global Capability Centre ecosystem because of its strong talent base, progressive policies and collaborative approach with industry. Our partnership with GoodWorks Group brings together complementary strengths to further enhance Karnataka’s value proposition for global enterprises and accelerate the next phase of GCC-led growth for the State.”

As part of the partnership, GoodWorks Group and Sansovi GCC would work closely with KDEM to support global investor engagement, organise sector-focused roundtables, facilitate international business delegations, prepare industry research & GCC reports, support policy implementation initiatives, build knowledge platforms, strengthen academia-industry partnerships and promote Karnataka across key international markets including North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea and the West Asia. The collaboration is also expected to support the development of specialised ecosystem initiatives, including virtual Centres of Excellence for strategic industry sectors, enabling closer collaboration between government, industry, academia and global enterprises.

Vishwas Mudagal, co-founder, GoodWorks Group said, “India’s GCC opportunity is entering its most exciting phase, and Karnataka has the potential to lead that transformation globally. Through this partnership, we want to build a stronger ecosystem that makes the State the first choice for every global company looking to establish and scale its India operations.”

This initiative has the potential to generate over 12,500 high-skilled direct jobs and another 50,000 indirect jobs across supporting industries. Through GoodWorks’ NetSkill Learning platform, an AI-powered Talent-as-a-Pipeline service, we are committed to developing industry-ready talent, creating specialised GCC learning pathways, and helping build the skilled workforce that global enterprises will need over the next decade,’’ added Sonia Sharma, co-founder, GoodWorks.
