A 39-year-old man was stabbed to death on Mavoor Road late at night on Friday (July 31, 2026) following an altercation that began inside a local bar. The deceased has been identified as Aadil Roshan, a trader from S.M. Street in Kozhikode city.

The police have arrested the accused, Najeeb Muhammad, alias Sulthan, from Nadakkavu late at night after he fled the scene following the incident, which took place around 8:30 p.m. on Friday (July 31, 2026) near the KSRTC bus stand.

According to police sources, the clash broke out between the two friends inside a local bar, after which the individuals involved were asked to leave the premises. The scuffle continued onto the street until the fatal stabbing.

The man, who suffered severe injuries, was rushed to a private hospital in the city by a few local auto-rickshaw drivers. He had sustained a deep stab wound on the chest. Although he was admitted to the operation theatre for emergency surgery, the 39-year-old succumbed to his injuries within a few minutes after the admission.
