Udupi tops Karnataka in digitising enumeration forms, says CEO

Udupi tops Karnataka in digitising enumeration forms, says CEO

Posted on July 25, 2026 By admin

Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V. Anbukumar said on Saturday that Udupi district topped the State in the digitisation of enumeration forms received from voters across all Assembly constituencies in the district.

Speaking while reviewing the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at the Udupi Deputy Commissioner’s office, he said a total of 9,40,340 enumeration forms had been digitised in the district, taking the progress to 88.39% till Saturday. He lauded the district administration for the progress.

He instructed officials that the SIR, undertaken by the Election Commission of India, to strengthen the foundation of democracy, should be carried out without confusion or errors.

Voters who were not mapped during the earlier house-to-house survey can also fill in the details in the last column of the enumeration form and submit it to the BLOs, he said. When BLOs visit houses, if voters are not at home, any adult member of the family can sign on their behalf and submit the enumeration forms to the BLO, the CEO said.

Deputy Commissioner T.K. Swaroopa said the district had achieved 100% progress in the distribution of enumeration forms.

She said 14,835 voters had died and 14,426 had permanently shifted.

On the occasion, BLOs Pavithra Poojary of Polling Station No. 125 in 118-Byndoor Assembly constituency, Lakshmi Shedti of Polling Station No. 135 in 119-Kundapur Assembly constituency, Prasanni of Polling Station No. 33 in 120-Udupi Assembly constituency, Hema Poojarthi of Polling Station No. 190 in 121-Kapu Assembly constituency and Jyotirao Servegar of Polling Station No. 41 in 122-Karkala Assembly constituency, who were the first to complete 100% digitisation of forms, were honoured with letters of commendation.
