Coromandel International Q1 net falls 26% despite higher revenue

Coromandel International Q1 net falls 26% despite higher revenue

Posted on July 23, 2026 By admin

Agri-solutions provider Coromandel International’s standalone net profit declined 26% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹377 crore in the June quarter as elevated raw material costs triggered by West Asia crisis weighed on the performance of the fertiliser business.

However, the company’s total income grew 10% YoY to ₹7,792 crore in the review period.

“During the quarter, the Middle East conflict resulted in a sharp escalation in raw material prices, while subsidy rates remained inadequate to fully offset the increased input costs,” MD and CEO S.Sankarasubramanian said.

Despite the challenging environment, the company strengthened its leadership position in the phosphatic fertilisers segment by improving market share and adopting a disciplined approach to production, procurement and inventory management, ensuring uninterrupted fertiliser supplies to the farming community, he said.

Coromandel leveraged the strength of its diversified business portfolio and strong execution capabilities to deliver robust growth across its non-subsidy businesses, which helped in partially offsetting headwinds in fertiliser segment, it said in a release.

On a consolidated basis, the net profit dipped 24% YoY to ₹.382 crore as total income rose 15% YoY to ₹8,215 crore.

The company said during the quarter operations of the newly commissioned phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid plants in Kakinada were stabilised.

The brownfield fertiliser granulation project, which will add 7.5 lakh tonnes of capacity, is progressing as planned and expected to be completed in Q4 FY27. In crop protection segment, the capacity expansion for the key molecule at Sarigam remains on track for commissioning during Q2 FY27
