A novel road safety awareness initiative using the traditional board game – Snakes and Ladders drew widespread attention at the inaugural ceremony of the Road Safety Awareness Centre in Khammam on Tuesday.
Director General of Police C.V. Anand inaugurated the centre.
The board game was creatively used to spread road safety awareness with snakes symbolising traffic violations and ladders representing safe road practices, according to the police.
The novel demonstration hogged the limelight at the event, captivating the visitors, particularly schoolchildren.
Helmets were distributed to motorists and traffic police personnel at the inaugural event.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said that a Traffic Management Bureau would be established on the lines of EAGLE, Telangana’s Anti-Narcotic Task Force, to improve road safety across the State.
