A 58-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl near Mettupalayam. The arrested was identified as A. Bhathirasamy from a village near Karamadai.
According to police, the accused sexually assaulted the child when she was alone at her house on May 24. The girl’s mother found her in tears when she returned home.
When enquired, the girl told her mother that the accused trespassed into the house and sexually assaulted her. The woman lodged a complaint at the All Women Police Station, Mettupalayam, where a case was registered against Bhathirasamy on July 1. He was arrested and remanded.
