Five children among six persons were killed in a house collapse in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area amid heavy rains on Sunday (July 5, 2026) night, officials said.
According to the BMC, when two to three tenements forming part of the three-storey structure collapsed at Janata Nagar chawl at 8.30 p.m. on Sunday (July 5, 2026).
Teams of the Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, BMC’s Ward Staff and ambulance were pressed into service. The injured were rescued and moved to Rajawadi Hospital and Shatabdi Hospital.
According to the information provided by Shatabdi Hospital, five persons brought in were declared dead.
They included a 32-year-old woman and four children aged between two and 14 years. According to the information given by Rajawadi Hospital, a seven-year-old boy died during treatment, while the condition of a 24-year-old man is stable.
