Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara on Sunday said that the government has directed the Commissioner of the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments to remove all encroachments on temple properties in the State.

Speaking to presspersons in Kolluru after offering prayers at the Mookambika Temple, Mr. Parameshwara said Deputy Commissioners of all districts would also be directed to remove encroachments on temple properties.

He said a master plan would be prepared for the overall development of the Mookambika Temple. The plan would cover everything, including parking facilities, darshan arrangements, and the construction of a new accommodation block for devotees.

Mr. Parameshwara, who is also the Minister for Revenue and Sports, said that during his visit to the temple, he reviewed the facilities extended to devotees.
