K. Sudhakaran, MP, tendered an unconditional apology before the Kerala High Court on Monday regarding his remarks about the High Court Bench that had quashed a single judge’s verdict that ordered a CBI probe into the murder of Youth Congress leader S.P. Shuhaib.
The apology was made in an affidavit submitted to the High Court on a contempt of court petition filed against him. The petition alleged that Mr. Sudhakaran’s statements amounted to an “imputation against the judiciary”.
Mr. Sudhakaran admitted to making derogatory statements against the Kerala High Court at a public function and stated that the remarks were of “a purely momentary and impulsive nature and were not the result of calculated, malicious intent”. He had made the alleged statement while inaugurating a protest march by Congress workers to the Chavakkad police station.
