Foo Fighters announce first-ever India tour for January 2027

When Foo Fighters takes the stage in Bengaluru and Mumbai in January 2027, it will mark the first time the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted, 15-time GRAMMY Award-winning band has ever performed in India.

For a band that has spent more than three decades circling the globe, the absence has always felt surprising. Since forming in 1995, the Foo Fighters has toured extensively across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. They have played markets such as Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea over the years, but India remained one of the few major territories they had yet to visit.

That finally changes next year when Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin bring their celebrated live show to Bengaluru LIVE on January 29 and Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 31. Produced by BookMyShow Live, the concerts are being positioned as full-day rock events, featuring a supporting lineup that includes The Pretty Reckless and Die Spitz in both cities, alongside Pinkshift and Alain Johannes in Bengaluru, and Mali and Still In Therapy in Mumbai.

The announcement comes at a time when India’s live music ecosystem has undergone a dramatic transformation. Once viewed as an unpredictable market for international tours, the country has become an increasingly important stop on the global concert circuit. In recent years, audiences have turned out in large numbers for artistes including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Green Day, Guns N’ Roses, Maroon 5 and Post Malone, signalling both the scale and maturity of the market.

Yet Foo Fighters occupies a distinct place in rock music. Emerging from the aftermath of Nirvana, Grohl’s project evolved into one of the defining bands of the past 30 years, producing a catalogue of songs that continue to resonate across generations. Tracks such as ‘Everlong’, ‘My Hero’, ‘Learn to Fly’, ‘Times Like These’, ‘All My Life’, ‘Best of You’, and ‘The Pretender’ have become staples of modern rock radio and live music culture.

The India dates follow the release of Your Favorite Toy, the band’s twelfth studio album, which has been described as a return to the band’s guitar-driven roots. Fans can expect a career-spanning setlist, mixing newer material with the songs that helped establish Foo Fighters as one of rock’s last great arena bands.

“After 31 years as a band, we can’t wait to finally play for our fans in India,” Dave Grohl said in a statement. “It’s taken a few years but we promise it’ll be worth the wait.”
