Minister for Transport A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban flagging off a bus to tribal villages at Karumandurai in Salem district on Sunday.

Minister for Transport A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban on Sunday (June 14) flagged off a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus to the tribal villages Thalakkarai and Pachakadu at Karumandurai in Pethanaickenpalayam union in the district. The Minister, along with some officials, travelled on the bus after the function.

Mr. Parthiban said bus routes were being extended to ensure every village was connected. As such, the bus that was operated from Attur to Soolankurichi via Thumbal and Karumandurai would additionally cover Thalakkarai and Pachakadu. It will reach these villages at 7.35 a.m. in the morning and 5.40 p.m. in the evening.

Stating that other demands of the tribespeople in the two villages would be met, he said tribal students had requested Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay through social media to provide bus service to the Kurangani hills near Bodi in the Theni district.

The next day, a bus service was provided to that hill station. The demands of all sections of people would be fulfilled by the TVK-led government, Mr. Parthiban added.
