Punjab may go to polls in November, Mann to return as CM: Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday (June 12, 2026) that the Punjab Assembly election may be held in November this year rather than in February 2027, when the AAP government would complete its five-year tenure. He also expressed confidence that Bhagwant Singh Mann would return as CM.

Mr. Kejriwal made the comment while addressing a roadshow in Bathinda, along with the CM, AAP’s State in-charge Manish Sisodia and other leaders.

“I have been told that the elections will be held in November [2026], not February [2027]. Only four months are left. Now we all have only one task — to make Bhagwant Singh Mann Chief Minister again,” said the ruling party’s national convener.

‘No graft allegation’

“In the last four years, not a single allegation of corruption involving even one paisa has been made against Bhagwant Mann. Do you think PM Modi would have spared him if there had been such an allegation? The ED and CBI would have conducted raids here as well,” Mr. Kejriwal claimed.

The CM said traditional political parties have been unable to accept that a person from an ordinary family could lead Punjab and work tirelessly for the welfare of its people.
