Salem Railway Division receives seven efficiency shields

At the 71st Railway Week celebrations of Southern Railway held in Chennai, the Salem Railway Division received seven efficiency shields on Thursday.

General Manager of Southern Railway R.N. Singh distributed efficiency shields, certificates and awards for outstanding performance to various divisions, units and employees during the event.

Salem Divisional Railway Manager Panna Lal, along with respective department heads, received seven efficiency shields for exemplary performance during 2025.

The efficiency shields include those for electrical efficiency; operating efficiency; signal and telecom efficiency; planning efficiency; the best-maintained train (Coimbatore-Chennai Central Cheran Express (train no. 12674), maintained by the Coimbatore depot); and the best-kept extra divisional office (minor) (office of Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, electric loco shed in Erode).

These apart, the inter-divisional Rajbhasha rolling shield was awarded to Salem Division for its commendable performance in implementation and propagation of Rajbhasha Hindi during 2025.

Moreover, 12 employees of Salem Division received individual awards for their meritorious service.

Mr. Panna Lal said it was a matter of pride that the division won these efficiency shields. He congratulated the employees for the achievement.
