A heart warming moment unfolded at the Kamaraj Municipal Higher Secondary School in Karungalpalayam, Erode, when Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi M. Vijay Balaji paid tribute to his former teachers by bowing at their feet and seeking their blessings.

The occasion was a function organised to distribute notebooks to students of the school, and Mr. Vijay Balaji attended as the chief guest.

Before the event, the Minister recalled that he had studied at the same school. He said that during his student days, he would offer prayers before the image of Goddess Saraswati at the school entrance before entering the campus. Recreating the gesture, he paid his respects to the image before proceeding into the school.

Several teachers who had taught him during his school days were present at the function. In a spontaneous gesture, the Minister knelt before them and sought their blessings, drawing applause and admiration from teachers, students and others.

In another touching moment, one of the teachers affectionately patted him on the cheek after blessing him
