Telangana Government gave approval for construction of 12,000 houses under Indiramma Houses – Lower Income Group (LIG) Housing Scheme on a pilot project basis. It has earlier announced that one lakh LIG houses would be constructed in 24 Assembly constituencies in Core Urban Area (CURE) limits).

Housing Department’s Secretary V.P. Gautham said that proposals for construction of the 12,000 houses have to be prepared. He conducted a tour in Khairatabad Assembly constituency on Thursday (June 4, 2026) as part of the process to identify lands for the construction. He asked officials which lands would be used for slum redevelopment and the LIG houses.
