State-owned miner NMDC effective June 3 increased iron ore prices by ₹200 a tonne for Baila Lump and by ₹150 for the same quantity of Baila Fines.

The new per tonne prices have been set at ₹5,700 for Baila Lump and ₹4,850 for Baila Fines. These prices are freight on road/rail (FOR) prices that are exclusive of royalty, DMF, NMEDT, Cess, Forest Permit Fee, transit fee, GST, environmental cCess and other taxes, NMDC said in a filing.

This is the third revision in as many months this fiscal by India’s largest iron producer. In the previous change, effective May 6, the company had increased prices of the key raw material of steel by ₹200 a tonne to ₹5,500 per tonne for Baila Lump and ₹4,700 for Baila Fines.

In the first change in FY26, the company on April 5 raised the price of Baila Lump by ₹500 per tonne to ₹5,300 and Baila Fines to ₹4,500 from ₹4,050 earlier. The latest revision comes days after NMDC reported an almost 20% increase in the iron ore production for May to 5.31 million tonne.
