Telangana CID forms Special Investigation Team to probe fund misappropriation in Hyderabad Cricket Association

Posted on June 1, 2026 By admin

The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities and misappropriation of funds in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

The SIT is investigating four cases registered at different police stations based on complaints against HCA office-bearers, including president A. Jagan Mohan Rao, treasurer C.J. Srinivas Rao and chief executive officer Sunil Kante. The complaints allege misappropriation and embezzlement of funds.

According to officials, the investigation pertains to allegations of large-scale diversion and misuse of funds released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the HCA. The State government constituted the SIT following directions from the High Court.

The SIT officials said that the investigation is nearing completion and charge sheets in the four cases will be filed before the court shortly.
