Chennai Corporation to expedite work on canal desilting

The Greater Chennai Corporation has expedited work on canal desilting in various parts of the city. According to a press release, Corporation Commissioner G.S. Sameeran inspected work on desilting of MGR Canal in ward 138 in Kodambakkam zone on Thursday and ordered officials to expedite the work. He also inspected the work to prevent clogging of the MGR Canal near the Adyar river mouth. He then visited residential areas along the canals and advised residents to stop dumping of solid waste in the canals.
