BJP President Nitin Nabin’s Birthday: Melody chocolates distributed among visually impaired children in Patna

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently gifted a packet of Melody chocolate to his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, the chocolates were distributed on Saturday (May 23, 2026) among visually impaired children of a school in Patna on the occasion of the birthday of BJP president Nitin Nabin.

Mr. Nabin hails from Patna, and his birthday on Saturday, May 23, was celebrated by party leaders and workers in a simple way.

Mr. Nabin, 46, has also been a five-time party MLA from Bankipur assembly constituency of Patna, the state capital and ex-minister of the state. Recently, after being nominated as the BJP national president in January 2026, he took oath as a Rajya Sabha member on April 16, 2026, vacating his legislative seat. He was present in Patna on May 23’ 2026.

Some people who claimed to be BJP workers distributed melody chocolates among visually impaired children of Rajkiya Netraheen Uchh Vidyalya located at Kadam Kuan area of Patna and said that “by distributing chocolate among children at the school, the birthday of our party president Nitin Nabinji was celebrated with much fanfare”.

In a video which has gone viral on social media, one of them, while distributing chocolates among visually impaired children, was wearing a saffron robe with a long saffron bandana hanging on his shoulder, and the other was holding a cut-out of the BJP president Nitin Nabin.

Mr. Nabin was in Patna on Saturday (May 23, 2026) and welcomed a few party leaders at his residence who had come to wish him on his 46th birthday. “It was celebrated without any pomp and show…few party leaders had come with cakes…that’s it”, said a person who looks after media persons at Mr. Nabin’s residence.

However, the former principal of the school Dr. Vijay Bhaskar, told The Hindu that a few people had visited the school in the afternoon today, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., and they must have distributed chocolates among the children there. Mr. Bhaskar said he kept visiting the school for different purposes and also informed that Mr. Nabin has been in touch with the school since long. “The blind school has total 68 students on roll”, he added.

Earlier, reports said that melody chocolates were also distributed among students of a famous coaching institute in Patna.

“Happy Birthday Nitin Nabin sir…aap log bhi jor se boliye (Happy Birthday Nitin Nabin sir…you people too should say it loudly)”, said the man in saffron robes while distributing chocolate among the visually impaired children of the school. “Bacchon ke beech chocolate baant kar aaj party president Nitin Nabinji ka birthday dhum dham se manaya gaya (while distributing chocolates among children, Nitin Nabin ji’s birthday was celebrated today with much fanfare)”, he told further to media persons after distributing chocolates. However, the local BJP leaders expressed unawareness about any such celebration.

The gesture by the group of BJP workers in Patna distributing Melody chocolate among visually impaired children on the occasion of party president Nitin Nabin’s Birthday assumed significance after Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently gifted a packet of the chocolate to his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni during his visit there and had caught the national attention.
