Five members of family killed in road accident at Madurai

Five members of a family from Anna Nagar in Madurai were killed in a road accident on Sunday evening near Ayyapatti junction in Madurai district.

According to the police, Prakash, 76; Vasantha, 90; Venkatesh 62; Asha, 58; and Sulakshana, 72; all belonging to the same family were killed on the spot after the car in which they were travelling rammed into the median at the bridge near Ayyapatti junction. They were returning to Madurai after offering their prayers at the Samayapuram Mariamman Temple in Tiruchi district.
