About 634 horses, including nine outstation, will take part in the 28-day Bengaluru summer season that will run from May 1 to July 31.
Briefing the press on Wednesday, L. Shivashankar, chairman & senior steward of the Bangalore Turf Club, said total prize money, including trophies, of ₹20.35 crore is estimated to be paid during the summer meeting and it would be approximately ₹21.53 crore including divisions.
Zavaray S. Poonawalla and the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. will jointly sponsor the four classic races while Wayne Wood has been appointed as chief stipendiary steward.
