Iran to restart domestic flights; charts phased airspace reopening

Contingent on progress in U.S.-Iran diplomatic talks, Iran’s aviation safety regulator has outlined a phased reopening of its airspace after the resumption of domestic flight operations from Wednesday (April 22, 2026).

Local media reported that Iran Air will resume domestic flight operations from Wednesday, after more than 50 days of airspace closure triggered by escalating tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel that peaked on February 28.
