Initiatives for securing infusion of foreign direct investment (FDI) from the realm of banking (that is, banking FDI) to finance nuclear power projects are in the pipeline, and are now headed for inter-ministerial consultation, said Seema Jain, Member of Finance at Dept of Atomic Energy (DAE).

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Workshop on the SHANTI Act, 2025 here, the official held, “Financing we will require all sorts of innovative measures to happen so that kind of money and financial space is made for the sector,” adding, “For that banking FDI initiatives are also in the pipeline, the Atomic Energy Commission has already approved the [FDI] policy, and is now going for inter-ministerial consultations.”
