Twenty-three people, including five women, were arrested on Wednesday (April 15, 2026) in connection with the violence that erupted in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district on Ambedkar Jayanti, the police said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) in Chehka Gunar village under the Sahavar police station limits when anti-social elements allegedly tried to block the route of a procession taken out by the Dalit community to celebrate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and pelted stones at police personnel, the police said.
