Karur Congress MP Jothimani on Friday accused Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) leadership of not being transparent in seat-sharing talks with the DMK for the Assembly elections.

She posted on X that the Congress leaders should understand the sentiments of the party cadre, which alone would facilitate the party’s growth. “We are thoroughly disappointed and disgusted,” she said.

The MP was upset over reports that the party would not get Vedasandur Assembly Constituency. “We have worked there so hard over the years. Only when the Congress candidate gets the seat, there will be jubilation all around,” she said.

BJP cadre too upset

Meanwhile, some BJP cadre in Palani in Dindigul district resorted to a road blockade for a brief period on Friday evening. After coming to know that Palani Assembly Constituency had not been allotted to them in the NDA front, the cadre shouted slogans and staged a demonstration in the town.

The BJP high command should have got all the Assembly constituencies, housing famous shrines. Same as Palani, Thirupparankundram constituency in Madurai was retained by the AIADMK, they said..
