PTI reported the attack purported to have been launched over an auto fare.
The lawyer, however, spoke to media and claimed that around 100 people attacked him inside the busy court premises where he had gone for some work. “When those people were hitting me, I asked them why they were doing so. They answered that it was because of the incident with the then CJI Gavai,” he told ANI.
The police hasn’t issued any statement on attack on Mr Kishore
Mr. Kishore, who thflung papers at the then CJI in the open court, had admitted that he was upset with Justice Gavai’s remarks on Hindu religion which ‘forced’ him to attack him. He was subsequently suspended by the Bar Association. The Supreme Court declined to initiate contempt proceedings against him citing that Justice Gavai himself was not inclined for it, and that it might “glorify” the attacker.
