Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited the Adyar estuary on Sunday (October 26, 2025) morning, his second within a week, where he reviewed the steps underway to ensure the draining of the Adyar river into the Bay of Bengal. He instructed officials to complete the ongoing work within two days.

Besides the widening and desilting of Adyar estuary, the CM instructed officials to undertake the widening and desilting works in Cooum, Muttukadu and Ennore estuaries. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister Ma. Subramanian, MLA N. Ezhilan and officials of the Water Resources Department and the Greater Chennai Corporation accompanied the Chief Minister at the site.
